A qualified scholarship student back to hometown |
Mr. Daosavai PHAMISAI or Noy is a model of outstanding scholarship students. He loves studying and has strong ambition and endeavors to continue his study to be a qualified teacher in the future. He is in the first batch of EDF-Lao Scholarship students. He was awarded scholarship in 1997 for grade P3 education at Thadua primary school in Thakhek district, Khammuane province. He grew up in a rural family with three siblings living in poverty.

Mr. Paeng is a third child of 5 siblings from a poor family in Kaengkhoum village, Saravan District, Saravan Province. Kaengkhoum village is an upcountry village located in poverty environment. Paeng is now living with his parents and studying his primary education in grade 3 at Kaengkhoum primary school.

About Laos |

Lao PDR is located in the heart of the Indochinese peninsular in Southeast Asia, latitude 14 to 23 degrees north and longitude 100 to 108 degrees east. Laos is a landlocked country sharing a 505 km border with China to the north, 435 km with Cambodia to the south, 2,069 km with Vietnam to the east, 1,835 km with Thailand to the west and a 236 km border with Myanmar to the northwest. The country stretches for 1,700 km from north to south with an east-west width of over 500 km at its widest, only 140 km at the narrowest point. Laos covers a total area of 236,800 square kilometres, three-quarters of which is mountains and plateaux. The country has three distinct regions.<Read more>. |
